PV education wall

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory commissioned this photovoltaic installation at the HHS headquarters in Washington DC as part of a public educational program. A four-foot high wall of PV modules mounted on an aluminum frame runs the entire Independence Avenue frontage. The wall incorporates liquid crystal displays and glass panels with silkscreened text describing solar energy and its applications. An LED strip running the length of the wall shows cumulative daily energy generated by the installation as a lengthening bar and instantaneous energy as a moving point light.
